We know from the research of Joseph Epstein, a writer in 2011. 81% of american citizens want to write a book, that's some 200 million people in the USA alone. Yet it's clear the vast majority of those will never fulfill this dream, no wonder author status can enhance your reputation.

OK let's assume you decide that's its a great idea to author a book that you can sell on Amazon's platform, make money from publishing and build the reputation of your business, there are a number of stages that you'll need to address:
- You'll need to research and organize what it is you want to say, decide an order and a structure for your eBook.
- Keyword research on both Amazon and Google to see which terms people are searching for and which terms are actually selling as eBook titles on Amazon Kindle.
- It may be wise to see how many books you're going to need to sell to compete with the best sellers in your particular genre and categories.
- It's important to make decisions about your front cover, what colors, pictures and fonts are the best sellers in your genre using, how can you be both unique and appeal to what's already working with buyers?
- Researching which categories and subcategories on the Kindle Platform to upload your book to, it needs to be relevant and if you're a new author not too competitive.
- You'll need your work proofread and edited and it's very likely that you'll have to write a second draft of your text.
- Having your text and indeed any pictures formatted for publication, that is so your book looks good when sold is something you'll either need to learn or pay someone else to do.
- Little touches like creating a clickable contents page.
- Using your keywords to decide on a title, subtitle and to write a powerful book description to sell your book with.
- Getting a book cover made to your specifications...
Are the things you must learn to do before you start on the process of learning to sell your book.
Writing Nonfiction E Books and Outsourcing
With the growth of business on the internet outsourcing has become a powerful industry. It makes sense, why would you spend huge amounts of time trying to learn about something you don't know when you can focus your attention on things you're already good at and pay an out-sourcer, a freelancer who's already expert in the field really very little in the grand scale of things to do all or most of the work for you.
You see it really is an amazing world we live in now, in effect you can become one of an elite group of people who have a book on the market, with your name as the author and with you owning the copy - write and you never have to write a word yourself. In fact the business world being what it is now, you can have the whole process done for you and you can reap the prestige and rewards...this is the 21st century, writing and publishing have been changed beyond recognition in the last decade.
Let's say you can everything listed above done for you and indeed anything else you may need or want, we have the power to make custom orders and negotiate directly with you for what you need, the online outsourcing market is evolving too.
Writing Your Own Nonfiction eBook
If you're like me you just love the idea that you can write your own books, the whole concept and practice is just so cool. There's a practicality to our madness though, you need a lot of space between the physical writing of your book and the editing process. Stephen King, I read finished the first draft and puts it away in a draw somewhere and doesn't look at it again for six weeks before he does the first edit and second draft. Even then, I believe he then has his book professionally edited.
In our businesses and in our lives in general, we don't have the luxury of time, putting out excellent content quickly and efficiently is a must in our trade, and here's the rub! Whatever you may think, or indeed what some well intentioned others may say, you're writing a nonfiction book to make money yes but more importantly so you and your brand become seen as experts and worth buying from.
An eBook with terrible spelling or grammar, with clumsy language or indeed just standard mistakes which we can all easily make, is unprofessional and counterproductive. We are all too close to our written work even if we are writing experts, let others proofread and edit for you. What I mean by proofreading is spelling, grammar and perhaps structure. For me though the joy and the art is in the editing, the suggestions of rewording, shortening and lengthening sentences, phrases and paragraphs to create trance or for snapping the reader back to reality is magical, powerful and effective. I can't urge you enough to allow your book to experience this transformation.
Creating a Nonfiction eBook From Your Blogs and Articles
This is of course another option, if you're a blogger you've probably got amble content to base your eBook on. One thing to be careful of is that Amazon insists on entirely original content, even if you've written the blogs Amazon will consider them plagiarized if you just copy and paste them into your eBook. Much of the list I mentioned above still applies with this idea although it's obvious that you won't need to do as much research. This option too you can always outsource, get the work done for you.
Rewriting the blogs in a way that changes the narrative structure and makes the text unique is crucial here, composing parts that bring the disparate blogs together so the contents flow, writing an introduction and conclusion can make for a powerful eBook that can be build from your blogging.
